The package is based on the recommendations of the first interim report submitted by the committee on economic revival of the state led by former Union Finance Secretary Hasmukh Adhiya.

The state government has been active in reviving the crumbling economy amid the Koro crisis. Now Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has announced a self-reliant Gujarat package. The Chief Minister has announced a package of Rs 14,000 crore. It has also decided to waive the electricity bill. It has been decided to waive 100 units of electricity bill.

Gujarat government has launched Atma nirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana to provide Rs. 1 lakh loan at 2% interest rate scheme. This is state govt’s helping hand in the form of Rs. 5000 crore package for people. It includes small businessmen, skilled workers, auto rickshaw owners, electricians and others whose economic activities have been disrupted due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown. The state government of Gujarat will pay another 6% interest to banks giving loan under the Atma nirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojna (AGSY) targeted at small businessmen.

Gujaratgovt. has announced Atma nirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana in which lower middle income group can avail guarantee-free loan of upto Rs. 1 lakh from banks. This loan amount will be provided at an annual interest rate of 2% as it seeks to help them get back to normal life disrupted by the Coronavirus lockdown. Moreover, govt. will also pay another 6% interest to banks giving loans under the scheme.

Aatma nirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana Apply Online Form

Just like other loan schemes, the state govt. of Gujarat will invite Aatma nirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana online application form. These applications may be invited through the Gujarat govt. official website or a new dedicated portal. This AGSY scheme aims to benefit small businessmen and cross section of people falling under the lower middle income group. As per the Aatma nirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojna, loan tenure will be of 3 years and payment of installments will begin after 6 months of loan disbursal. Earlier on 13 May 2020, central govt. has launched Aatm Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan (self reliant India campaign).

Who are Aatm Nirbhar GujaratSahay Yojana Beneficiaries

The state government has launched Atma nirbhar Gujarat Scheme for the following group of people as mentioned below:-

A) Small businessmen
B) Skilled Workers
C) Autorickshaw owners

E) Barbers
F) Other people with lower income

Various other states like Delhi has declared assistance of Rs. 5,000 or so to such people. The state govt. of Gujarat has an opinion that such a small amount will not bring their life back of normal.

Collateral Free Loans

Approximately 10 lakh such beneficiaries will be given loan of Rs. 1 lakh each from banks at just 2% annual interest to start their lives afresh under Atma nirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana. All the loans will be provided on the basis of application and no guarantee will be required. Gujarat govt. will pay remaining 6% interest on loan to banks
