News of relief for rural farmers in Ahmedabad has come to the fore. An important decision has been taken by the state government to release water from Fatehwadi Kharikat Canal. Paddy cultivation was being affected due to lack of water. The farmers also approached Amit Shah on the issue. The decision of the state government to release water will benefit the farmers of Sanand, Dholka and Dhandhuka.

Earlier, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had suggested releasing water in the minor canal to manage irrigation in the state when the monsoon breaks. As a result, farmers in need started filling up forms for irrigation. The state government had planned to release water for irrigation in the Sujalam Sufalam Canal.
It was decided that farmers would get 10 hours of electricity for irrigation and water from 9th July instead of 8 hours.
It may be mentioned that farmers in the state of Gujarat are currently in trouble due to rains. Then on the other hand a more sensitive decision was taken by Chief Minister Rupani in the interest of the farmers. In case of rains in the state, farmers will not have any problem for irrigation water.
